Bright Ideas
The Bright Ideas Grant Program supports innovative and effective classroom education curriculum that cannot be covered by traditional school financing.
Teachers in public and private schools, K-12, and home school associations in CAEC's service area of Autauga, Elmore, Chilton and Coosa counties, are eligible to participate. Grants are awarded for projects in any discipline and are intended to help teachers within CAEC’s service area offer unique learning opportunities. Grants are awarded annually in a competitive evaluation process.

Electrical Safety Education Program
A portable high-voltage safety demonstration unit featuring "Neon Leon and Lightnin’ Liz" teaches third and fourth grade students how to "be aware" and "beware" of electricity.
Real electricity and "neon" people dramatically help both students and adults become aware of the importance of electrical safety. Neon Leon and Lightnin’ Liz illustrate what happens when they do not use their heads and wind up in the electric path to ground.
For more information or to schedule an electrical safety demonstration program, call (334) 351-2213 or send an e-mail.
Scholarships
CAEC supports continuing education through the Electric Cooperative Foundation Scholarship Program each year. Graduating high school seniors in CAEC’s service area are eligible to compete for two, $500 scholarships. The program, established in 1997, awards scholarships to dependents of members of participating electric cooperatives. Scholarship applications become available each January with a deadline in March.
